Come Listen to a Prophet's Voice
"These were days never to be forgotten, to sit under the sound of a voice, dictated by the inspiration of Heaven." WOW General Conference was the BEST!! I was so sad when it ended, what a privilege to live in a day when we have living prophets and apostles.
A couple miracles that prove God places people in our path, I saw this girl at the temple open house that I had met my first day in the field outside an apartment complex. She had been crying so I felt inspired to ask if she was ok and we ended up going up to her apartment complex to share a message. She still remembered me and thanked me for helping her feel better that day! There are no coincidences, God put her in my path again! Picture included. Also fun thing, we talked to another lady at the open house in the video room who came with a member friend and is investigating the church. We had a great conversation, and then a couple days later on Pday we just happen to run into her in the family history center by temple square. Cutest lady and loves reading the Book of Mormon so far.
Of many experiences I could share, I really like this one from our Friday shift at the Jordan River temple open house. There were a ton of people that day(I heard somewhere around 27,000 throughout the day) for general conference weekend, and we were asked to keep our group a little longer in our video room. So for our last group of the night after the video explaining what temples are and why they're special, we opened it up for people to comment on how they felt. One lady said she realized that temples are to help make us and our families worthy of heaven. I don't remember much else, but with many people participating from their hearts I just felt the Spirit so strongly. That families really can be forever and God really does want to give us the blessings of heaven. What a joy it is to obey Him!
What a powerful moment it was to sustain the prophet group by group and then as a whole Church. I will not forget the feeling I had, accurately described as "an outpouring of the Spirit". Christ's church has been restored, and it is directed by him through a prophet! I know that with all my heart. I urge you all to follow the counsel we received and write down the feelings you had. And the prophet has instructed us to learn how to receive our own revelation from God so we can be spiritually protected!
We got to go to the Sunday morning session with a recent convert, and it was beautiful.
The Lord continues to refine me, and I have been learning to trust him. I've really started letting go of what has been holding me back, and working towards living worthy of the Lord's trust.
