The Reasons for Everything


Dear Family,
  The Lord has shown me miracles little by little this week! He is really starting to teach me, and I've felt myself changed as a person and a missionary. A couple experiences for lack of time:
  The Lord's timing is crazy. For dinner on Friday we just happened to run into Elder Don Clarke, an emeritus seventy (general authority of the church) and his wife. They invited us to eat with them! They have been mission presidents, done hundreds of mission tours, and he's spoken at general conference at the MTC. He just started answering our questions about missionary work and I left feeling so inspired and grateful that God put Him in our path. Sometimes I forget what power missionaries have and I felt like he gave a little of that back to me.
  Sunday we were somehow super busy and we were able to actually have a lesson with the people who dropped us recently and invite them to the temple open house! The member that came with us was a returned missionary and we had a really powerful moment when she testified of the love that missionaries have for those they teach. It's so true, I've never used my heart so much in my life. I love being inspired to go somewhere and being able to find out we were in the right place at the right time, and that's what happened with a member we visited real fast. We simply invited her to start praying for a friend she could share the gospel with, but at the end she started crying, thanking us for coming and saying she had been feeling sad that day. President Monson is right, the sweetest experience in life is learning you have helped be the answer to someone's prayer.
  Temple open house update: amazing and exhausting. Love sharing my testimony of temples!
  Shoutout: to my family in Utah! Have fun!
  Invitation: Watch general conference it'll be so good!! Hear a prophet's voice and sustain him :) I know that President Nelson is the prophet of God!

Goodbyes

Hola!   Crazy weird week. We did lots of driving. And saying goodbye to Sister Wilson! Aaah she goes home tomorrow! And I get a new companion today aah!   On monday we had a fun Fourth of July zone activity! After that we drove up to Salt Lake and as we entered the valley there was the most breathtaking sunset and I felt like it was a sign from heaven on that hard July 2nd day. In the morning we went to Mission Leadership Council with the new Salt Lake missionaries and some exhausting merging of policies. But it was really good for us to make a list of all the things that are the same about us as missionaries and that list is so much longer! The Atonement of Jesus Christ is the most far-reaching, unchanging, unifying thing.     On our way back out of Salt Lake we went on exchanges in Coalville. "The Girls Who Work for Jesus are Here!"

Querida Familia,   This was a really good week and a lot happened. Our area is picking up and we hope it stays that way! We had set a goal of finding 5 new investigators and ended up with a whopping 8! WOOO BLESSINGS! I heard some pretty profound things this week, and one of those is that missionaries learn the law of opposition pretty quickly. When something hard happens you can be sure you're headed towards something good haha. I've had the most extreme emotions of joy and sorrow on my mission but I have a testimony that the deeper the sorrow the greater our joy can be!   A great thing about Wyoming is that the streets have names again(unlike Utah), so that feels a little more like home, even if the street names are "Hitching Post" and "Tumbleweed".   I did one of my first STL things this week and went on exchanges this weekend! Babies Training Babies

Feliz Navidad y Paz en la Tierra!   WOW what a week. Classic missionary ups and downs. I love training!!! Let me introduce the wonderful Hermana Coleman, my greenie! She is from Laie, Hawaii, and she also came from the Mexico Mtc, like I did. The moment we met each other we had a feeling we would be companions, it was pretty cool. I was so excited and I was sure I would like the leadership opportunity and be influenced by that greenie fire again. My expectations were high and yes it's been cool, but of course I found that it is also hard. I'm new myself and though I know my area, it's been a challenge to have the whole responsibility on my shoulders. I told her off the bat that we'll be learning together and I'm pretty sure God wants me to learn from her more than she needs to learn from me haha. I'm learning to teach Hermana Coleman and I have been super proud of her, she has a powerful testimony about afflictions becoming blessings. Our first night I had...
