The Reasons for Everything


Dear Family,
  The Lord has shown me miracles little by little this week! He is really starting to teach me, and I've felt myself changed as a person and a missionary. A couple experiences for lack of time:
  The Lord's timing is crazy. For dinner on Friday we just happened to run into Elder Don Clarke, an emeritus seventy (general authority of the church) and his wife. They invited us to eat with them! They have been mission presidents, done hundreds of mission tours, and he's spoken at general conference at the MTC. He just started answering our questions about missionary work and I left feeling so inspired and grateful that God put Him in our path. Sometimes I forget what power missionaries have and I felt like he gave a little of that back to me.
  Sunday we were somehow super busy and we were able to actually have a lesson with the people who dropped us recently and invite them to the temple open house! The member that came with us was a returned missionary and we had a really powerful moment when she testified of the love that missionaries have for those they teach. It's so true, I've never used my heart so much in my life. I love being inspired to go somewhere and being able to find out we were in the right place at the right time, and that's what happened with a member we visited real fast. We simply invited her to start praying for a friend she could share the gospel with, but at the end she started crying, thanking us for coming and saying she had been feeling sad that day. President Monson is right, the sweetest experience in life is learning you have helped be the answer to someone's prayer.
  Temple open house update: amazing and exhausting. Love sharing my testimony of temples!
  Shoutout: to my family in Utah! Have fun!
  Invitation: Watch general conference it'll be so good!! Hear a prophet's voice and sustain him :) I know that President Nelson is the prophet of God!

Querido Familia y Amigos,   If anyone gets the reference of my email title I will be soo happy. Missionaries are easily entertained so please humor me haha. But for real, if anyone has cool pictures of the solar eclipse I very sadly missed, please please send them to me! We were instructed not to try to look at the solar eclipse on Monday because no one had the special glasses. Its a little sad because the missionaries in my mission in Utah got to see it pretty close to the path of totality. Pero esta bien, I'm just *llorando en espanol*.  Anyway, what a week its been!! Goodbyes

Hola!   Crazy weird week. We did lots of driving. And saying goodbye to Sister Wilson! Aaah she goes home tomorrow! And I get a new companion today aah!   On monday we had a fun Fourth of July zone activity! After that we drove up to Salt Lake and as we entered the valley there was the most breathtaking sunset and I felt like it was a sign from heaven on that hard July 2nd day. In the morning we went to Mission Leadership Council with the new Salt Lake missionaries and some exhausting merging of policies. But it was really good for us to make a list of all the things that are the same about us as missionaries and that list is so much longer! The Atonement of Jesus Christ is the most far-reaching, unchanging, unifying thing.     On our way back out of Salt Lake we went on exchanges in Coalville. Hail to the Prophet, Ascended to Heaven!

Mi querida familia y amados amigos,   It was a pretty amazing week actually! Too much to tell but wow, what a time to be a missionary to say the least. Our dear prophet President Monson has reunited with his Savior. My companion and I could barely plan the morning afterwards because we were crying, but mostly I'm filled with a reverant respect for this dear man. Not every missionary goes through a change of the prophet on their mission. We will be testifying soon that someone new is the Lord's mouthpiece on the earth in these latter-days. I invite you all to learn for yourself through prayer about the divine calling of God's new prophet. This is an important thing for all of us to do. Favorite quote: "May we ever choose the harder right instead of the easier wrong."    My companion and I had the privilege of going to temple square that very night.
